Lisa (battling metastatic breast cancer) and her family had an incredible overnight escape to the woods for their One Day to Remember outing! Raising 4 kids is exhausting, but when you add a cancer diagnosis, it REALLY becomes challenging. The entire family was ready for a break, and they got one! We rented a large farmhouse AirBnB for them away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and the family enjoyed each other’s company in the fresh air of rural Ohio. A grocery delivery was waiting on the porch when they arrived, and they took advantage of the slower pace to cook together and play games and remember what it was like to spend time together as a family. After returning home, Lisa shared that “it was such a gift not to think about cancer or chemotherapy for a day.”
